  • About this opportunity

    Gleeds is seeking an experienced Nuclear Construction Project Manager to support the delivery of complex, high-value nuclear projects in Eunice, New Mexico.

    This role is critical to ensuring the safe, compliant, and successful execution of construction activities within a highly regulated nuclear environment. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors, and drive programme performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    •  Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of nuclear construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning.
    • Manage contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure delivery against scope, budget, and schedule.

    • Ensure full compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements, site licence conditions, and quality assurance standards.

    • Oversee construction sequencing, site logistics, and installation activities.

    • Monitor project performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

    • Manage cost control, forecasting, change management, and reporting processes.

    • Drive a strong safety culture aligned with nuclear and construction best practice.

    • Liaise with regulatory bodies, client stakeholders, and senior leadership.

    • Support commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities.

    • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams.

  • Who we’re looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

    • Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects within the nuclear sector (or similarly highly regulated industries such as oil & gas, power generation, or pharmaceuticals).

    • Strong knowledge of nuclear safety culture and regulatory compliance frameworks.

    • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.

    • Experience working in live or high-security environments is advantageous.

    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

    • Strong understanding of risk management, change control, and earned value principles. 

    • Professional certifications such as PMP, APM, or equivalent are desirable.

    Qualifications

    • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
