Gleeds is a leading global property and construction consultancy. Independent since 1875, we are proud to deliver award-winning projects around the world. We are a Great Place to Work certified employer, with our people at the heart of everything we do.
Climate change and Sustainability is at the top of our agenda; we have been established within the energy sector for the past 40 years and have achieved significant growth in the past years as we contribute to a sector that will have trillions of pounds of investment over the next decade. Our teams are at the forefront of the change, managing life changing projects in Solar, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Renewables and Defence, and we want you to be part of that too.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Consultant to join a major, complex programme within the nuclear sector. The role will involve leading procurement activity, including the development of procurement strategies, contract data and scope documentation, while demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Your day to day could involve:
- Support the delivery of compliant and effective sourcing activities across a major, complex programme, from early market engagement through to contract award.
- Develop and manage procurement documentation, including procurement strategies, scopes of work, tender packs, evaluation criteria, contract data and award recommendations.
- Manage tender processes in line with UK public procurement regulations, relevant frameworks and internal governance requirements.
- Evaluate supplier submissions, coordinate moderation activity and prepare clear, evidence-based evaluation and recommendation reports.
- Support NEC-based procurement and contract administration, ensuring documentation is accurate, commercially robust and aligned to programme requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders across commercial, technical, legal and project teams to understand requirements and shape effective procurement routes.
- Support supplier engagement and relationship management, helping to build a capable and responsive supply chain.
- Contribute to achieving value for money, strong commercial outcomes and wider programme objectives through effective procurement planning and delivery.
- Identify and manage procurement risks, opportunities and dependencies, escalating key issues where required.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, supporting procurement strategies across infrastructure, construction, defence or public sector programmes.
- Ensure procurement activity is delivered transparently, consistently and in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and governance.
- Produce accurate procurement reports, tender documentation, stakeholder updates and contract award materials.
However, in the consultancy world, no two days are the same! We are a flexible team that support each other’s projects as well as getting in involved with wider business activities and we believe that variety is key to your development.
