  • About this opportunity

    You will be responsible for managing a wide range of financial and administrative tasks to support Gleeds operations in Ukraine. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax laws, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
     
    This role requires a strong understanding of Ukrainian financial regulations, proficiency in international reporting standards, and the ability to work closely with both local and global teams. 

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Preparing monthly balance sheets, cash flow, and profit and loss reports in line with head office (London) standards.
    • Transforming Ukrainian financial reporting to meet global Gleeds´ requirements.
    • Conducting financial planning and control, analysing expenses and income, preparing business plans and forecasts, and providing analytical support.
    • Collaborating daily with the English-speaking Director in Ukraine and participating in online meetings with regional directors.
    • Managing regular payment orders (via client-bank OTPay), tax and salary payments, business trip advances, currency transactions, international payments, and bank statements.
    • Handling correspondence with banks, document uploads/downloads, and compile payment lists in English for director approval.
    • Issuing and booking primary accounting documents (invoices, acts, tax invoices, expense reports, etc.), maintaining purchase/sales books, and managing inventory and fixed assets (commissioning, write-offs, depreciation, transactions, and reports).
    • Overseeing settlements with clients and suppliers, performing reconciliations, controlling debts, and issuing invoices/acts to Ukrainian and foreign clients.
    • Preparing VAT and income tax returns, unified social reports (ESV), statistical reports, and register VAT invoices.
    • Calculating salaries, vacations, bonuses, and average salary for business trips. Maintaining staff vacation records, timesheets, and preparing salary turnover reports and payrolls (including additional payrolls in English for director approval).
    • Developing, coordinating, drafting and adapting bilingual (Ukrainian/English) international and local contracts, civil law contracts and private entrepreneur agreements.
    • Managing employment/dismissal orders, maintaining personnel records (Staff List), handling labour contracts, labour books, journals, and applications.
    • Preparing general company orders, business trip orders, and other correspondence as required.
    • Collaborating with outsourced accountancy firms, supporting annual audits, handling appeals of fines from the State Tax Service, and assisting with desk inspections and social fund audits (TVP).
    • Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

  • Who we’re looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

    • Proven experience as an accountant in Ukraine, with a strong understanding of national financial and tax regulations.
    • Familiarity with international financial reporting standards and the ability to adapt Ukrainian reports to meet global requirements.
    • Experience in contract drafting, HR administration, and collaboration with external audit or tax authorities.
    •  Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
    • Ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in accounting software - 1C, MEDOK, Vchasno.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
    • Fluency in Ukrainian and English (both written and spoken) to communicate effectively with national and international teams.
    Qualifications
    • Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
