We have a vacancy due to expansion and restructure of our business for an experienced Infrastructure system administrator to join our existing global IT team. Reporting to the Group infrastructure director, working as part of the 3rd line team which currently supports approximately 3000 internal users.
Role Overview
The Global Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, optimising, and securing the organisation’s Microsoft-based IT infrastructure. This encompasses both on-premises and cloud environments, supporting business-critical functions across our global offices. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems, whilst supporting digital transformation initiatives. The role will support the design, optimisation, and governance of Gleeds’ hybrid Microsoft infrastructure, acting as a key technical authority across global operations. Act as a technical SME for Microsoft-related security controls, contributing directly to ISO27001 compliance, internal/external audits, and client security assurance. Contribute to cloud architecture strategy by designing and implementing scalable solutions in Azure, supporting Gleeds’ cloud-first roadmap
Key Responsibilities

- Administer, monitor, and support Microsoft-based systems, including AD/Entra ID, Exchange, Azure, and Microsoft 365, across on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Implement and maintain security protocols, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard business data and continuity.
- Monitor performance of LAN/WAN platforms.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders worldwide to plan and deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, providing expert technical support and guidance to regional IT teams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to information security and data protection.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies and best practices across the organisation.
- Comply and work with client facing business security questionnaire and within our ISO27001 policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to regional IT teams, acting as the global escalation point for complex Microsoft infrastructure challenges.
- Reporting to the Group IT Infrastructure director as a team player will Own and deliver global infrastructure projects, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to meet scope, timelines, and quality targets
