Contract & Risk Manager (YSE)

Contract (YSE) and Risk Manager responsible for overseeing the contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with agreed terms, mitigating risks, and supporting project delivery.

• Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
• Positively engaging with Customers and developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships.
• Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
• Contract oversight.
• Ensuring contract compliance, overseeing the assurance process.
• Preparing contract documents and drafting terms and conditions.
• Drafting and issuing project correspondence.
• Claims preparation and assessment.
• Change control, variation management.
• Subcontracting strategy, oversight & approvals.
• Negotiating and awarding of contracts.
• Pro-active commercial risk management.
• Identifying, assessing, and prioritising project risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Developing and maintaining risk registers to track and monitor potential issues and mitigation strategies.
• Conducting quantitative risk analysis to inform contingency planning and cost forecasting.
• Facilitating risk workshops and meetings with project teams to ensure a collaborative approach to risk identification and response.
• Preparing risk management reports for stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
• Reviewing and updating risk response plans to address evolving project conditions.
• Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

• Broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to YSE Contracts Management.
• Experience managing contracts for construction projects in Finland.
• Strong understanding of legislation impacting building contracts.
• Understanding of national construction practices and standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
• Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Fluency in both English and Finnish languages (written and spoken).
• Eligible to work in Finland.
