  • About this opportunity

    The Project Manager provides independent oversight of construction delivery on hyperscale data centre projects. The role ensures that the client’s requirements are met through monitoring programme, safety, quality and commissioning activities from contract execution through to handover.

    The position focuses on proactive engagement, risk identification and clear reporting to protect the client’s interests and support successful project outcomes. 

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
    • Leading construction delivery oversight, with particular focus on programme integrity, critical path activities, procurement, permitting, energisation pathways and commissioning sequencing.
    • Monitoring and assessing weekly and monthly programme updates, schedule risks, mitigation plans and interdependencies.
    • Overseeing health, safety and welfare compliance, including site logistics, security and risk assessments.
    • Reviewing quality processes, installation works and readiness for commissioning, including walkdowns and issue tracking.
    • Coordinating among the stakeholders on L1–L5 commissioning activities and the removal of delivery blockers.
    • Conducting site visits and inspections to verify compliance at key milestones, including early access and readiness for service.
    • Managing the tracking and close-out of issues, including the issue resolution log, and support handover documentation and as-built records.
    • Facilitating lessons-learned workshops and providing regular updates to the client on project status, risks and critical issues.
    • Liaising with all project stakeholders, including the lease provider’s team, consultants, subcontractors, local authorities and client operations, integration and security teams.
    • Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular, those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

  • Who we’re looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

    • Sound project management and/or programme management experience post qualification.
    •  Experience within the data centre, industrial or process engineering sectors is preferable.
    • Strong experience in programme management, stakeholder coordination and senior-level reporting.
    • Demonstrated ability in conflict mitigation and resolution.
    • Proficient in scheduling tools, including Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
    • Ability to manage multiple workstreams across complex, fast-paced projects.
    • Available to work on site.
    • Fluent level of English and Spanish.
    • Right to work in Spain, with a valid driving licence.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Project or Construction Management or Architecture (or equivalent)
